Join us in Anchorage for the 18th Alaska School Leadership Institute (ASLI).  We are excited to bring district teams together to plan for the 25-26 school year.

Pete Hall will facilitate the conference. Our focus this year is to provide school and district leaders with effective strategies to support and retain their teams.

ASLI is designed for leadership teams from rural and small schools, but school teams from anywhere in Alaska can participate. There will be large and small group sessions, time to learn with colleagues in the same role from other districts, plus dedicated time to work together as a school or district team.

Focus areas:

• Employee engagement: Strategies to actively coach educators, both to improve student performance and to foster a sense of belonging in the school and district. Explore how to improve onboarding at all levels, including supports for educators who are new to the state or the country.
• Career development pathways: Providing opportunities for educators to grow within the district organization and advance their skills.
• Performance management and feedback: Establishing regular feedback loops, having tough conversations. and sharing ways to acknowledge contributions.
